They're going to take my Indie Card away...

So anyone that knows me knows that I love music. A whole lot. And of course, whenever someone gets a real love of commercial music going, they start to get a little "my itunes library is better than yours" going on with everyone they meet. I'm not gonna lie, I have been guilty of this literally THOUSANDS of times. So I'm going to write this down for whenever I get to indie for my own britches, you can remind me of this oh faithful blog reader (all three of you :D). Labels are a waste of time anyway, and everyone needs to be reminded of that every now and then, especially me.

Kathryn's Top 10 Musical Guilty Pleasures

10. John Mayer- I really don't listen to the radio much, but John Mayer is one of a couple mainstream artists that I love. I liked him before anyone knew who he was back when Room for Squares first dropped, and I fell in love. It's not very popular for an Indie Kid to be into John Mayer because of all of his involvement in the tabloids but in reality, he's a good guitar player, songwriter, and all around artist. That's why he's number 10 on the list lol
9. Justin Timberlake- He is as mainstream as mainstream gets but he is rad. But yet again, he is a very talented musician so I still love him. I think i listened to What Goes Around like a thousand times the first time i heard it. This is going to come back to haunt me lol
8. The Jonas Brothers/Miley Cyrus- They are adorable and catchy. So sue me! Plus I like the disney channel a lot.
7. 90's Pop (N'Sync, Backstreet Boys and so on...)- This one should be easily forgiven. This is my generation people! I was like eight, what was I supposed to do lol
6. Michael Jackson- Older Michael Jackson stuff. that is. I mean gosh darn it, he is the king of pop!
5. Timbaland- This is one of the ones that confuses me the most. Really, I have no idea why I like him so much. To this day it confuses me. But when Apologize dropped, I about had a cow. Keep on keeping on Timbaland! :)
4. Eighties Power Ballads- "I'm just dying in your arms tonight, must have been something she said." Now this is just getting downright embarrasing. What can I say, I'm a sentamental kind of girl!

3. Cheezy Love Songs- I swear when I hear "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith, I get teary eyed. Or "I'll Be" by Edwin Mccain.
2. Eminem- This is another one that really confuses me. I don't like rap that much so I really don't listen to it. Eminem is not a nice dude and is really vulgar sometimes. But sometimes I just bust out in "All you other slim shady's are just imitating, so won't the real slim shady please stand up, please stand up, please stand up." Woah what was that, oh yeah it was dignity flying away.

and at a whooping number one of my musical guilty pleasures...

1. High School Musical- Those kids really can't act that well, the music is contrite, the lyrics are so cornball....and i eat up every minute of me. Yep, there goes any indie cred I ever had. Killing indie validity in one single blog post just for my lone reader. '

I'm going to go cry now lol
