I can't sleep.

I have no idea when I picked up this weird case of insomnia but lately I just cannot sleep. I'm never tired when I try to go to sleep and it is really starting to bug me. Tonight, it is worse than normal. I feel really nervous for some reason and I'm trying to deduce why. Here's what I've come up with so far.

-I'm starting summer school in a week and this makes my stomach turn. My last escapade with academics was not that great and I ended up losing my state scholarship so now I have to get it back. And I have serious doubts in myself that I can actually do it.
-Beth Anne left today which my puts my best friend count in Lexington to a whooping zero (I only have two best friends so it's not that hard). I'm nervous that now that she's gone that I'll be lonely here in Lexington. Thankfully she'll be home on the 18th to go see the premiere of Dark Knight with me and Kristin is coming home soon too but that still does not ease my nerves.
-Speaking of friends, I'm not on good terms with most of my Lexington friends which is really hard on me. But everyone has changed. And that REALLY makes me nervous.
-This is a really irrational reason. I'm 19 years old, my future career should not be keeping me up at night but this is a huge reason that I am so nervous. I'm scared because all I have ever wanted to do it work in the entertainment industry. I'm scared that all of the doors will get slammed in my face and I won't be able to hack it. Most of all, I'm afraid I'll be forced to give up on my dream. This is really hard for me to swallow because I cannot imagining doing ANYTHING else with my life.

Just writing about these things is making my stomach do flips. I know this is stuff that I need to give to God and he will take care of all of it but it is hard to do that. Our task in the bible study I'm in is to relinquish control of one thing this week to God. I'm not really in control of that many things because that's not really my way, but one thing I am in control of is my worries. They are unessisary and just another thing to come between me and Jesus. So prayers would be appreciated as I work on this. My song to help me through this struggle this week is most definitely going to be "Beauty of your Peace" by Tim Hughes. That song has so much meaning to me because of where it came from but the words struck a chord in my heart really hard as I listened to it.

Your voice has stilled the raging storms
The wind and waves bow down before
Your still small voice brings hope to all
Who wait on You, we'll wait for You
To lead us to the place where You'll restore our souls
And all our earthly strivings come to cease

Take from our souls the strain and stress
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Your peace
The beauty of Your peace

This is my prayer for this week.

So we are actually getting our new dog this week. We couldn't get Chase or Perry because they had already been picked out, BUT we do get a beautiful new black lab named Heidi! Here's the picture that her current foster mom sent us!

More pictures will be put up when we actually pick her up of course, which should be sometime on tuesday or wednesday. Oh the olympic trials are on so I'm going to go watch! :D

Quick Little Update

I'm going to lunch with Evan in a minute so I don't have a whole lot of time to update. So this is going to be the cliff notes version lol. Life is going to be pretty busy this week. Tonight I have bible study which I'm really excited about. Then tomorrow I'm going to Charleston to see Alison which is very exciting because I haven't seen her since like middle or end of May. I get back from that on Thursday, then we have family spending the night that night. Then on Friday I get to be a mom for the weekend for the Byrd's which is going to be fun because I love those kids a lot and they ARE my little brother and sisters that I never had. So this is going to be the first busy week I've had since Furman so it should be interesting. Oh I think Evan might be here so I have to go! Hopefully I'll get a chance to update later on this week!

VIVA LA VIDA!

Coldplay's new album is magnificent.I am listening to it right now and I am amazed. My favorite song (besides the title track which I have been in love with since it came out lol) is Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love. It has dulcimer in it. No that is not a misprint. No I am not lying. DULCIMER. That is the freakin RADDEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!

I love this kind of moment. Where you have been aching for new music, something that will stir your hear and remind you exactly why you want to go into that industry. And then something like this comes along and you fall head over heels in love with music all over again. Someone asked me the other day (jokingly mind you) how are you ever going to really love someone and get married when you love music THAT much?

The only answer to that question is that I have no earthly idea. Really, no clue. The only thing I can guess is that they are going to have love music a lot too.

Lord help them :D

Aw dude, I just got to the track "Yes" and the string parts are AMAAAAAAZING. Oh yeah baby, life is good. ♥

Top Ten (continued) ♥

4) Ok i know this about Coldplay but it's something new. Seriously this is amazing to me. Coldplay's new album is number two on itunes top album chart. NUMBER TWO AND IT HASN'T EVEN COME OUT! Oh my gosh that is ridiculous! And Viva La Vida has been the number one song for weeks already. Gah, I LOVE Coldpaly :D

3)Have you ever actually listened to the lyrics to Sexy Can I? They are AWFUL. I felt like a bad person just for listening to them. Just another reason I avoid that radio at all costs because you get crap like that ALL the time.

2) Guitar Hero is FAR superior to Rock Band. That is all lol

1) I read this really awesome book called "Is Tiny Dancer Really Elton's Little John? Music's Mysteries, Myths, and Rumors Revealed" by Gavin Edwards and it was really hilarious. You should go read it right now. And no Tiny Dancer is not about his little john, Elton John didn't even write the song! Just like Barry Manilow did not write the song "I Write the Songs" which I think is LAME lol

Ten Music Related Things that I have learned these last couple of weeks...

10) I like to listen to rap/hip hop music when I workout. I now have a whole playlist just for it. It's like the most random thing ever. My ipod goes like radiohead, u2, coldplay, what the heck...nelly? lol. I mean whatever, as long as I'm working out, who cares lol

9) I really like to read music related books. I just finished "Body Piercing Saved my Life: The Phenomenon of Christian Rock" and I just bought a book about the Mysteries Myths and Rumors in Rock n' Roll tonight from Books-a-Million. It was either that or a book that talking about the Future of the Music Industry.

8) Bob Dylan is the man.

7) The first music videos were hilarious. Go watch "Video Killed the Radio Star" and just laugh for awhile. :)

6) As if I hadn't emphasized this enough...Coldplay's new album drops JUNE 16TH. Go get it and watch this nice little preview!

5) I really love the song "Without It" by Mute Math

The world is gone, don't think about it
Cuz life is short we'll do without it
They say the road is long, don't think about it
Cuz life is short we'll do without it

We can move on forward
Don't worry
The best we've known is yet to come
We can move on forward
Don't worry
The worst won't get the best of us

TO BE CONTINUED
(i'll finish this in my next blog, pinky promise! but right now I'm tired!!)

I know, I get too attached

As many of you might have read in my last post, today I'm going to have to put my dog Chloe to sleep. I'm really sad about this but really I have no reason to be sad. Chloe is a whooping THIRTEEN and a half years old. In dog years she is something like 94 years old. She has lived an awesome life for a dog and has successfully survived not one but TWO ACL replacements and fought off a staff infection through one of them. Chloe has been on of the best dogs that I could have ever had but now it our turn to return the love that she has given us but letting her die peacefully. She has trouble going in and outside now and her arthritis is making her life very painful and we don't want her to have to go through that anymore. So, my dad is taking her to the vet today at 1:30 and we are going to have to say goodbye.

Even though this is a really sad day for my family and me (we're really big dog people if you can't tell), we recently found this really great website called Low Country Lab Rescue and we're probably going to try and get a rescue dog. We're totally stoked to save a dog and get to give them a really good loving home. And we know that our other puppy, Callie, is going to be very lonely and we want her to have a new brother or sister soon.

The one I want right now is a 9 month old boy named Chase.
He was given to the rescue shelter because because he was a black puppy that came from a yellow lab and the breeder didn't want him or his brother Perry. If I could really pick, I would take both of them. Look how cute he is!

Hopefully this will work out for the better for my family!

This is my all time low.

I need to figure out what to do because I have no one to turn to and no where to go.

This is a very dangerous situation for me to be in.
